OUR HISTORY

With a great mission ahead, Bishop Alton Davis, Jr. accepted the task God had for him to start his own ministry. True Redemption Center was birthed on October 10, 1999. Bishop Davis and his wife, Pastor Michelle Davis, took on the mindset to reach the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The Olivette Community Center (West location) became our place of worship. We started with only 10 members who trusted the vision of God through Bishop Davis and stepped out on faith. In a short time, service was moved to the gymnasium to allow more room for God's people.

In 2001, Bishop Davis implemented a "Confession of Faith" for TRC. This confession was made every Sunday as part of our service. Many were saved, baptized in Jesus Name, filled with the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues; miraculous healings were manifested; people in bondage delivered and set free; strongholds from addictions destroyed by the annointing; and many glorious testimonies.

On September 16, 2007 we became one church in two locations (North and West). The North location was held at the Northwest High School auditorium. The Lord led Bishop Davis to go back to North St. Louis to seek and save that which is lost because the area is an example of the lives God delievered many of us from. Therefore, it was important to go back with the love of God to change our community. We are excited about the task of being ambassadors of Christ.

True Redemption Center moved into our first church building in 2010 located in Bellefontaine Neighbors, Missouri on 1229 Shepley Drive. Tens of thousands of dollars were invested in renovations and remodelling to beautify the blessing God had given. With the help of God, the mortgage on the Shepley building was PAID OFF in September 2013! God's anointing has continued to destroy yokes and manifest life changing experiences through the Holy Ghost weekly.

True Redemption Center hosted a "Back to School" giveaway event for the youth and supplied food, clothes, school supplies, and free haircuts to the community. True Redemption Center also sponsored and financially supported 100% of a trip to Kalahari in Wisconsin Dells, and a trip to Dallas, Texas for the Potter's House Youth Conference.

At True Redemption Center, we are excited about what God has done and yet doing. We know with His continued blessings and looking unto Jesus only, history will continue to be made.
